Most hardwood athletic floors are maple systems protected by a durable finish system. That finish takes the abuse first: athletic shoes, rolling equipment, bleachers, chairs, moisture tracked in from entrances, cleaning chemicals, and repeated traffic over the same zones. When the finish wears down, the wood becomes more vulnerable to staining, abrasion, and moisture movement.
Refinishing renews the protective surface and can restore court markings and logos where needed.
